But festive feasts often consist of sweets, fried foods and high-calorie foods. Navigating this is quite challenging for people with diabetes. However, with some planning, we can enjoy a <a href=\"https:\/\/drmohans.com\/backend\/top-10-low-glycaemic-foods-for-a-diabetes-friendly-meal-plan\/\">diabetes friendly meal<\/a>, traditionally prepared in a healthier way.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 1: Smart Starters<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Instead of having deep-fried foods like murukku, bajji or bonda, try the following dishes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grilled paneer or mushroom tikka<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Sundal made with channa, green gram or peas (lightly tempered)<\/li>\n<li>Roasted peanuts or almonds in moderation<\/li>\n<li>Ragi or millet adai with chutney, cooked with very little oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Step 2: Balanced Main Course<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Meals should be wholesome and light.
